UPCOMING CHASE PLANS: Watching for a potential chase in the near future.
A potentially powerful summer system looks to eject across the midwest these next couple days. Tuesday and Wednesday and Maybe even Thursday could have some chase potential. I haven't gone over much details yet but might end up chasing Wednesday or Thursday. Stay tuned!
 
Local Area Forecast Summary: 7-12-10
The heat will be rebuilding as the week progresses with some potential storms Wednesday and again on the weekend. Models are advertising some big heat next week, the hottest yet, so that is something to watch!
 
SITE HEADLINES AND RECENT UPDATES
07-02-10:  Updated the stats and "seen on" sections. Also, the store might have its first item soon! Stay tuned!
 
06-26-10:Updated lightning, tornado and radar image galleries. Check them out! Also updated the video page with some of my recent 2010 goodies. I will probably break down the video section later on to make things less cluttered.
 
06-24-10:Chase log from 6-23-10 is up. Another significant severe event in Illinois. It looks like the bulk of chase season 2010 has come to an end. I will have a summary blog in the coming days along with lots of new site content to go through!
 
06-22-10:Chase logs are all complete! Go take a look, there is much to see! Chase season is winding down, but there is still allot happening including one last major severe weather day tomorrow. Once chase season slows down I will have lots of other content to update!
 
06-20-10:Chase log from 6-10-10 is up. Beautiful supercell and 2 tornadoes in Colorado!!
 
06-19-10:Chase log from Thursdays deadly tornado outbreak has been posted. Incredible pictures and video! This one took priority over the other logs and I will be working to get those up ASAP as long as more chasing doesn't come first [not that I would complain!]
 
Latest Radar Snapshot: 6-26-10
An intense MCS tracked south of Chicago in typical summer fashion. The Chicago area has been at the heart of a "ring of fire" pattern for the past 2 weeks which have brought multiple rounds of storms. See this and many other radar images in the photo section!

An MCS moved through the Chicago area at 4am this morning bringing frequent lightning, heavy rain and gusty winds. I snapped this shot a of a CG strike out my bedroom window. See this and more lightning photos in the photo section!
 
Featured Chase Log.
A tornado touches down in the suburbs of Chicago on the afternoon of Saturday, June 7th 2008. The tornado crossed the busy I-57 interstate flipping multiple vehicles. The tornado was rated EF-2 and was the areas first significant tornado in nearly a decade. Read about the intercept, see videos, pictures and more in the chase log section
