2009. So many choice words for this year. I entered it with a brand new, more aggressive chase plan. I also had a more capable vehicle and a new chase partner that shares similar strategics as I do. The weather pattern did not favor chasers at all and the prize catches were often needles in the haystack. 2009 lacked good tornado producing setups, but provided allot of great structure. Local setups? Almost non existent. I chased allot of smaller setups, and found they can be more rewarding than the big ones. I also greatly expanded my presence within the community. People now know I exist.

APRIL 26TH - OK/TX - High risk fail, slender rope funnel.
MAY 13TH - MO - Multiple tornadoes, close call near Edina! 
MAY 15TH - IL - Backroad gamble with tornado warned storm. 
JUNE 1ST - IL - Nickel hail and severe straight line winds. 
JUNE 5TH - NE - Stovepipe tornado. Amazing structure. 
JUNE 6TH - IA - Cap bust with large convergence.
JUNE 7TH - KS/NE/MO - Atomic structure! Golfball hail core. 
JUNE 13TH - TX - Tornado warned storm, scenery shots.
JUNE 14TH - KS/CO - Elephant trunk tornado, beastly HP storm.
JUNE 15TH - KS - 2009s Wildest chase! This one has it all!
JUNE 18TH - IA/WI - IA cap bust. WI storms on the way home.
JULY 24TH - IL - Weakening storms along I-88. 
AUGUST 9TH - WI - Amazing shelf cloud near Janesville.
